FIRST THINGS FIRST

Ok, there's some folks that have been visiting me that might have fun stories to tell about what they like to read.

How 'bout the wonderful gal from Midlife Matters,

or Gayla from SoMuchMore-when she has time between homework assignments

or Dave from Random thoughst from a Progressive Mind.

or Robbie from Robbies Ruminations

or Dave at Inner and Demons

Sorry, guys I am a Mac person and the journals don't work quite the same as for pc's. I can put links to other sites in my e-mail but they don't seem to work quite the same in the journal. :-(

If somebody can tell me how to get links in the journal proper I'd love it.

Looking forward to hearing what you like to read.

Hello Jackie-
Right now I am reading "War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning us to Death by Norman Solomon. It was recommended by Lisa from Coming to Terms With Middle Age. Realy great book. Interesting facts on the war decision progress. I am also reading (for too long now....LOL) "The Emperor of Ocean Park by Stephen L. Carter. Great mystery book, but with a strong touch of personal tragedy and family. I warn you to have a dictionary close at hand as Mr. Carter uses words and phrases that can stump the smartest reader....LOL. But the book I hightly recommend.
You have actually given me a really great idea. I am going to start including more journal entries on what I'm reading. I usually don't talk a whole lot on my journal about what I'm currently reading or have read in the past, but I'm going to start. Thank you Jackie. My friend over at My Souther Home (Sonya) always includes on her "About Me" section what she is currently reading as she is an avid reader.

Thanks for the comment about your current reading and giving me such a great idea Jackie!

Enjoy your weekend,
Gayla

Sorry I am so late to respond to this. Fun stories? Hmmm...not really sure about that. I will read practically anything I can get my hands on. If it doesn't hold my attention, I put it down for a while and move onto something else and return to it later on. Let's see I have several books like that:

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut
The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
A book by Ayn's lover about her - Brandon somebody I think is his name?
Currently I'm reading a book about Feng Shui and another by Julia Cameron called The Right to Write. I just finished the whole Stephanie Plum series by Evanovich. I feel a little foolish liking those books so much, but I chew them up like potatoe chips. You can't eat just one.
